Fixing a compact topcase mount
By: Doug Warner
Wanting space to carry a bulky rainsuit, jacket, and other stuff,
while still retaining the ability to see over my tank bag, I elected
to mount a Givi E360 case over the passenger area of the seat.
A mount kit from Givi, a spare grab handle, and some work in aluminum
and epoxy, I came up with a solution that allows easy seat removal,
and keeps the weight as far forward and as low as possible.
First, the mount:
The bridge across the seat screws to wing nuts buried in pockets of
epoxy putty in the seat. The epoxy is keyed via pop rivets to the
seat pan. The rear mount is just a cut down grab handle with an
aluminum bridge to hold the latch piece.
